Butterfly Pasta Craft for Preschoolers

This simple pasta craft is SO CUTE! Kids will use noodles to make a pasta art for kids perfect for spring or summer. Try this easy butterfly craft with your toddler, preschool, pre-k, kindergarten, and first grade students. Whether you already have dyed pasta on hand and you are using it up with some fun pasta crafts for kids or not, this is such an easy craft for preschoolers. All you need to make this craft of a butterfly are a few simple materials you probabaly already have on hand:

  • colored pasta – any kind you like, I think bowtie pasta is super cute for this project (you can see how to dye pasta here)
  • construction paper in any background color you like
  • markers to add in details
  • glue to affix the pasta

You can hold your paper horizontally or vertically. Use glue to affix 5-8 bow tie pasta butterflies to the sheet of paper.

Using a black marker draw a dashed black line to show the path the butterflies took; I like to add some turns too.

Make the butterfly antenae on top of the bowtie with your black marker.

Now hold your green construction paper the same orientation as your main project and carefully use scissors to make lots of slits. Carefully angle some in so that you can tell that they are many shakes of grass. Now cut a straight line to get the strip of grass and use your glue to affix it to the bottom of your butterfly art project.
