Preschool age kids need to learn a variety of foundational preschool math skills to have a firm foundation before entering preschool. There are a variety of fun, math activities for preschoolers to learn these important skills to achieve math fluency:

Counting

preschoolers will learn to count to 10 (and some activities to learn to count to 20 for those that need a challenge)

Shapes

learn to recognize basic shapes, practice making shapes, learn shapes, and identifying shapes in the world around them

Counting Activities for Preschoolers

Preschool counting is focused on helping children learn to count, write numbers, and learn number words from 1-10. Preschoolers who are 3, 4, and 5 year olds need lots of practice to have a firm fondation and understanding of what numbers mean. Older 5-year-olds who are getting ready for or in kindergarten may be able to count to 100 and read numbers up to 20.
