This activity would be best if printed on cardstock. You will need to print the game board and the two pages of cards. The game board and the cards would benefit from being laminated as well.

Pumpkin Activities for Prechoolers

  • Print off and laminate board and cards.
  • Place counter/game piece on the start square.
  • Shuffle the cards and place them face down in a pile.
  • Choose a person to go first.
  • The first person chooses a card. They will then count the tally marks or the dots of cream on the pumpkin pie. Then they will read the card to know whether they are to move backwards or forwards.
  • Then they move the correct number of spaces in the correct direction.

Once a child has completed their turn, the next child will take their turn. This will go on until one child reaches the last pumpkin – the finish box. They will be the winner.

This fun and free printable game comes in color. For more cards, print the card pages two or three times.
