Parrot Craft

Start of this easy paper plate craft with a few simple materials:

  • 2 white paper plates
  • red liquid tempera paint
  • paint brush
  • scissors
  • glue or tape
  • white and black construction paper or XL googly eyes
  • orange construction paper
  • colorful tissue paper for feathers (red, yellow, blue, and green)
  • stapler

Paper Plate Craft

Start by painting both of the paper plates red on both sides. Allow them to dry.

Cut the first plate into 1/3 and 2/3 sections.¬† The smaller section will be the bird’s head.

Bird Craft

Make eyes out of white and black construction paper and glue them onto the head.

Cut a half circle beak out of orange or yellow construction paper and glue or tape that onto the 1/3 head as well.

Fold the red, yellow, blue, and green tissue paper accordinat style to make feathers.

Staple them to the bottom left of the larger plate.

For the 2nd plate, cut it into fourths and use one section only for the wing off of the main body. We added a smaller version of the tissue paper accordion to the end of the wing.
